
Calvin McElroy is a native of California and has performed throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 25 years. With virtuoso musicianship, Calvin is best known for his lead guitar playing, vocals and creative songwriting. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays acoustic,
12-string electric, slide, keyboards, percussion, mandolin, mandola, dobro and other string instruments. Over the past two decades, he has opened for a variety of artists including The Ventures, Saw Doctors, Wilson Pickett and Eddie Money. In August 2000, Calvin and his band, A Bubble Off Plumb, had
the honor of playing on the same bill with David Lindley and Wally Ingram.
Calvin has also accompanied many great artists, including Van Morrison. His first recording was produced by Dennis Erokan, editor of Bay Area Music (BAM) magazine.
Calvin's music is an incredible assimilation of styles ranging from Celtic to pop to hard rock and back to folk / ballad. He has been an integral part of many Bay Area bands, including The Roosters, Ian Cognito, DECAL, The Core and Claddagh Band. In March of 1997,Calvin took his music to Europe as part of a St. Patrick's Day Music Festival, performing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
