Whose guilty pleasure is it, yours or hers? When Pamela Russell works the old piano in San Gregorio about four times a year, passersby stop and listen to the compelling lyrics of the songs she covers, which is her musical mission. Ms. Russell keeps the style simple, and while the repertoire is comprised of what she calls “obscure oldies” (very good songs that were rarely if ever aired), that doesn’t mean you won’t recognize them. Listen to the 70’s era folk / jazz / blues / ballad stylings of Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Rickie Lee Jones and others. Two or three original compositions have emerged within the last year, and there may be yet more to be yielded from this noteworthy spirit ¾ we invite you to come hear her, and hope you will stay tuned.
