ISART's Game Art training prepares future 2D/3D Game Artists for the video game industry. Students acquire the graphic and managerial skills allowing them to work in each artistic specialty of a real-time 3D project.

They learn how to collaborate in real production conditions. In addition to exercising their creativity, they practice organizing and managing all the production stages of a video game project.

The specialized Game Art training prepares students for various roles in the video game industry such as:

To be accepted into our video game school and on to the Game Art degree course, candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and pass the admissions test.

The admissions test includes a digital portfolio and an interview.

All details are given in the Admissions Guide.

  • Acquire the graphic skills related to the production of a video game: master 2D and 3D graphic software and techniques, have an artistic and video game culture, design the graphic and visual elements of a video game in 2D and/or 3D (scenery, textures, characters, effects)
  • Acquire the managerial skills related to the production of a video game: know how to communicate, organize and work in a team
  • Be able to meet the requirements of the graphic charter and use graphic design software to integrate the elements into the game engine
  • Preparation of the graphic development of the game
  • Graphic design of a video game project
  • Elaboration of the promotional elements of the game
  • Production of the graphic elements of a game
  • Quality control of the graphic elements of a game
  • Steering and management of a project to create the graphic universe of a game
  • Theoretical and practical teaching: lectures, application exercises, practical work, tutorials
  • Production of projects: monitoring and supervision by teachers during the realization of projects (end of year project, final major project)
  • Continuous Assessment (case studies, simulations, presentations, demonstrations)
  • Project presentations (end of year project, final major project) in front of a school or professional jury
  • Written and oral evaluations in English
  • Professional experience report and presentation

The Game Art course includes periods of work experience in companies, to develop students' employability right from the start of their studies.

  • Bachelor 2nd year: a summer internship
  • Bachelor 3rd year: 3-month internship (Feb/April)
  • Master's degree: 26 weeks minimum over the two years (internship, work experience contract or apprenticeship)

The RNCP Level 7 title "Expert in digital design, 3D animation and special effects" is delivered at the end of the course based on the results obtained.

This degree is the consecration of five years of study and the acquisition of social and professional skills.
